Program Breakdown (4-Day Pro & Artist Upgrade)

Day 1 – Foundation & Vision

Kick off inside Battlestar Studio. We start by getting to know each creator: everyone shares their story, their goals, and why they make music. This sets the tone for a truly personal journey.

From there, we sharpen your vision and dive into hands-on techniques for structure, sound design, and working with analog & digital tools according to each creator’s preferences. Finally, Robert demonstrates how to create a track from scratch in just a few hours – a session that speaks to every level.

Day 2 – Studio Immersion & Track Feedback

Step deeper into Battlestar Studio with a focused listening session on Robert’s world-class Guzauski-Swist speaker system, originally conceived by the legendary Daft Punk mixing engineer. Each creator experiences their music in stunning detail – often hearing brilliance and mix weaknesses more clearly than ever before. Marc and Robert then provide honest, constructive feedback: highlighting strengths, pointing out weak spots, and setting a clear direction for improvement.

From there, we explore the studio’s gear, refine your workflow, and dive deeper into track analysis. 1-on-1 sessions begin here, starting with the first creator’s track.

Day 3 – Refining Your Sound

Day 3 is about breaking through creative and technical roadblocks. We focus on arrangement, mixdown, and sound design – the areas where tracks either fall apart or start to shine. You’ll learn how to add depth, clarity, and that “special spark” that makes a production stand out.

While Robert works 1-on-1 with creators on mix and sound refinement, Marc sits down with the others at their laptops – helping them shape arrangements, strengthen ideas, and push their tracks forward. This way, everyone stays in the flow and no time is wasted.

Throughout the Masterclass, another dedicated room is open from Day 1: a workstation packed with Robert’s very own and partly rare analog synths, drum machines, mixers and effect units. Here, creators can experiment, sample, and create unique sound sessions – taking home their very own library of recordings as a personal souvenir for future tracks.

More 1-on-1 coaching continues with the next creators, ensuring every track gets the attention it deserves and every producer leaves with new breakthroughs.

Day 4 – Artist Growth & Industry Insights

Day 4 is about preparing you – and your music – for the outside world. We cover how to get your tracks heard: from pitching to labels, to insider strategies on promo, bookings, and building your artist profile.

All remaining 1:1 sessions are completed, and each creator’s track is brought to its final mix by Robert. The mastered files will be delivered the following week, fully polished and release-ready.

There is also space for an open Q&A, where you can ask Marc & Robert anything you still want to know – from the studio to the stage.

At the close of the Masterclass, every creator receives a special certificate of completion. We’ll capture the moment with photos together in Battlestar Studio – memories of an experience you’ll carry forward in your artistic journey.

Yes, if you are serious about your music and want to grow as an artist. Whether you are just starting to finish your first tracks, already releasing and looking to refine your signature sound, or eager to get honest, professional feedback on your work, this experience is for you.

But you should have basic working knowledge of a DAW such as Ableton Live, Bitwig, Logic Pro or Cubase etc., so you can follow along and apply what you learn.

No – and that’s intentional. You have full flexibility to book your own flights and stay. As Malta insiders we’ll share a curated list of our favorite boutique hotels and seaside apartments, so you can make your trip unforgettable.

We recommend arriving in Malta at least one day before the Masterclass begins, so you can settle in and start refreshed. Plan your departure no earlier than the day after the final session, to make sure you don’t miss any closing moments – and to travel home relaxed.

Malta is a small island – everything is close. Battlestar Studio is about 20 minutes by car from the airport and around 25 minutes from Valletta. Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Bolt and Uber are widely available, easy, and affordable.

We mainly work with Logic Pro and Ableton Live – but the concepts and techniques apply to any DAW. You’ll be able to transfer everything you learn to your own setup.

Yes – please bring your laptop with your DAW and current projects, plus your headphones. Everything else – from analog synths to mixing desks – is provided at Battlestar Studio.

There’s no guaranteed release, but your finished track will be professionally mixed and ready for mastering, and you’ll receive a file that meets the technical specifications required for a digital release as well as for vinyl or CD production.

Beyond that, you’ll gain the knowledge, skills, and professional edge to stand out from the crowd when approaching labels, distributors, or platforms. With honest feedback, insider tips, and valuable contacts, your music won’t just sound better — it will carry the kind of quality and confidence that gets noticed.

All group sessions are in English. For 1:1 coaching, German is available if required.

Each day runs from 11:00 to 18:00, including a one-hour lunch break. This schedule gives you time to settle in, stay focused and still enjoy the island outside the sessions.
